CANM8 CANNECT PULSE is a CAN bus interface designed to provide a rectangular pulsed (analog) speed output signal from CAN bus equipped vehicles.

Speed signal - 12-volt rectangular pulse output signal with a frequency of approximately 1 pulse per 1 MPH.

CANM8 CANNECT PULSE is used to provide an analog speed signal to a taximeter or tachograph installation via the CAN Bus.

Description

Installation details

The interface has a mini wiring connector that can be detached for easy installation. There are 2 connections to the vehicle's CAN bus wiring (CAN HI and CAN LO) along with a connection with a constant 12-volt power supply and ground.

The interface includes a multi-function status LED that indicates proper connection to the CAN system, CAN activity and confirmation that CAN identity has been recognized.

 

LED status details

                Flashes red: Searching for CAN information.

                Lights red: CAN data has been received, but the vehicle has not yet been identified.

                Lights green: CAN data has been received and the vehicle type has been recognized.

                Flashing green: Vehicle speed has been detected.

 

Wiring harness details

RED - Connect via a 5A fuse to the FIXED 12-volt power supply.

BLACK - Connect the vehicle ground.

WHITE - CAN HI connection: CAN HI wire of the vehicle.

BLUE - CAN LO Connection: CAN LO wire of the vehicle.

GREEN - Speed signal output: 12 V pulsed (1 Hz = ok. 1 MPH).
